Manager, Product – North American Payments

The Position

As a member of the Product Team, you will be part of the team ensuring the economic success of nanopay by constantly developing new innovations, going into new markets and increasing sales as well as profitability in a sustained manner. The Product Manager role will be hands-on, reporting to the Vice President, Product and we’re looking for a positive team player who is passionate about our product, living and breathing it day-to-day!  This includes: 

  • Owning our North American Payments product currently, centered around delivering payment solutions via API in both CAD and USD. This product covers both traditional payment rails and modernizing into faster payment rails with an existing large anchor client; 
  • Gathering requirements and creating specifications for the development team; 
  • Creating GTM strategy and mapping out future releases with integration into faster payment systems, and measuring core success metrics to continually iterate and improve future phases of the product;
  • Developing vision boards, detailed work plans and schedules, user stories, payment flows, business requirement documents, and status reports;
  • Facilitating planning, daily stand-ups, and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives;
  • Working closely and collaboratively with our Client Delivery team and clients;
  • Managing the integration, review, and tracking of vendor tasks and deliverables; 
  • Understanding visibility to team impediments/risks and helping to eliminate them;
  • Assessing product market competition by comparing the nanopay’s product to the products of our competitors; and
  • Working with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

Who are you?

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science or a related program, or the equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Three to five years of experience within the financial services industry including experience ideally in several of the following areas:  
    • Domestic/cross border payments; local/international payment rails;
    • Banking or fintech work experience;
    • API’s; 
    • Knowledge of ISO 20022; and
    • Interac e-Transfer, RTR/RTP and faster payments/payment modernization related projects.
  • Well-rounded experience as a Product Manager and/or Product Owner including the ability to understand the technical details relevant to the product experience and to provide feedback on product design/UX;  
  • Detail-oriented with project management experience including the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery of deliverables;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and lead others cross-functionally;
  • Grasp of good design principles and technical trade-offs and the ability to provide feedback on product design/UX; and
  • A creative out-of-the-box thinker.
