Laurence is founder and CEO of nanoPay Corporation. Laurence was previously Chief Operating Officer of Bell Mobility and Bell Distribution Inc, where he was responsible for all wireless operations and all retail for Bell Canada. Laurence was VP Wireless at Shaw Communications, a senior executive at Accenture’s London Strategy Practice and co-founder at Xtempus and Melodeo. Laurence has BSc Computer Science and Economics from the University of Witwatersrand and MBA from London Business School.
Kent has 20+ years experience in the telecommunications industry and brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to his role at nanoPay. Prior to joining nanoPay, Rawlings was the Senior Vice President of Sales with the start-up wireless company, Public Mobile. Kent was responsible for growing all sales and distribution. He built and managed over 50+ corporate stores with 400+ employees and grew the dealer network to over 200 locations. Kent holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University.
Simon comes to nanoPay from LoyaltyOne where he led new innovation and mobile strategy for the AIR MILES Reward Program. With over 20 years experience designing and developing award-winning products for entrepreneurial startups, Simon owns product vision and strategy for nanoPay. A technologist and out of the box thinker, Simon's most recent passion is the convergence of emerging payments and loyalty. An avid doubles squash player and cyclist, Simon loves all things digital.
Nebo brings 20+ years of global experience in electronic payments. Prior to joining nanoPay, Djurdjevic held senior executive roles with companies including Cardis International and Intellect, building relationships with payment networks, processors, banks and retailers to deliver commercially successful and award winning solutions in Europe, North America and Asia. At nanoPay, Nebo will drive business development with focus on Europe. He holds a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Belgrade.
Wajeeh joins nanoPay as VP Engineering, in which he can use his deep technical experience to make a clear difference in our strategic service delivery. Prior to joining nanoPay, Wajeeh created the Integration Centre of Excellence at Royal Sun Alliance. He received his Master’s in Telecommunications from Queen Mary University of London. In his spare time, he is a member of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) and enjoys flying RC planes and drones.
Mark joins nanoPay as our resident jack-of-all-trades. Mark’s experience encompasses 18 years of developing and implementing marketing plans and solution selling strategies at venture-backed tech startups as well as international marketing, telecommunications organizations at every stage of the game, from inception through to mergers. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts/ Communication and Design from OCAD University.
Joe grew up in Toronto and recently relocated from the United States where he was involved in a number of early-stage startups focused on mission critical computing. An experienced full stack developer and system administrator, Joe draws heavily from his background as a jazz musician, which he credits for his creative approach to problem solving.
Pascal is an administrative professional with 20+years experience. Prior to joining us, Pascal held several senior administrative roles across different industries most recently as Executive Assistant at Accenture. Additionally, she successfully ran her own business offering administrative and executive support services. Pascal holds a BA in Public Relations from the Lebanese University and is currently completing the Event Management Certificate at Humber College.
Marc is originally from the island of Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Canada in 2009 for his undergraduate studies. Marc enjoys trying new beers from around the world and hitting the gym. Prior to joining nanoPay, Marc held Software Engineering Intern positions at Gree International, Electronic Arts and Reputation.com, all in the San Francisco Bay Area. Marc holds a Bachelor of Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
Deana is a native of Montreal who comes from an extensive sports and live events background. From Olympics to the World Cup, she has seen it all. Deana holds an Honors BA in French and CCIT (Communication, Culture, Information & Technology) from the University of Toronto.
Carlos is a native of Brazil and a lover of the Universe. Carlos brings a wealth of experience in computer engineering and open-source architecture. Although his skill set is vast, his greatest interest and expertise revolves in the worlds of interactive design. Carlos holds degrees in Computer Science from BR-UNIPE and Internet Systems Engineering from BR-IFPB. Carlos’ passions include reading, walking and climbing.
William is an experienced full-stack software engineer with a passion for good quality code, development tools, and getting things done. As a former Computer Science student at Universidade Federal de Pelotas, William has already worked for digital companies around the world in Germany, United States, Brazil, and now Canada. In his spare time William likes to read and visit new places, seeking new experiences and the opportunity to learn something new every day.
Kirk is a software engineer hailing from Toronto who loves writing clean and usable code. He brings his passion and knowledge of Android development to nanoPay. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, skiing, and is always eager to discover new music. Kirk holds a Bachelor of Computing from the University of Guelph.
Blake is a Toronto native who studied Game Development for 4 years and enjoys programming games and applications. He loves to travel the world and experience different cultures and is a connoisseur of various beers and foods. Blake holds a Bachelors of Information Technology specializing in Game Development from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
Gurvarinder is a native of India and came to Canada to pursue a Masters Degree from Concordia University. Gurvarinder worked in India as Manual QA tester focusing on software perfection and has an inherent knack for taking things apart and as such finds all of the possible ways to break software. Patience, detail and an alert eye are his most helpful attributes. Gurvarinder likes to travel, watch movies, play cricket and Ping-Pong - nanoPay Ping-Pong!
Mark is our operations architect. Networking and system administration is his game. Mark is passionate about building fast, efficient, scalable and secure networks. Outside of his “9-2-5” routine, he enjoys discovering new restaurants/cafés around the city and keeping up with the latest sneaker trends!
Marco is a fully-stacked developer, so to speak. A Brazilian native with degrees in Computer Science from the Universidade Federal Fluminense-UFF, Marco has been fortunate to experience many cultures throughout his career; including the Netherlands, Brazil, Australia and now Canada. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, it goes without saying that he loves the beach, soccer and barbecues!
Aleksandra grew up in the Town of Oakville, Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. She is interested in the impact of digital technology and is excited about the direction of nanoPay. She is an avid traveller, reader, and loves all things food and nutrition.
Keen to explore the world and to broaden his horizons, Kenny decided to pursue his dream of programming here in Canada. Beginning at Carleton University, Kenny has since graduated with an Honours Degree in Computer Science and moved to Toronto, where he hopes to not only deepen his love for his craft but also his insatiable food cravings in a city with sheer culinary and lifestyle diversity.
Patrick is full stack developer with a passion to make the internet look, feel and do amazing things. Having an adventurous soul, he taught and travelled in Asia prior to pursuing his career as a Developer. Aside from programming, you can find him spending most of his time with his friends and family.
Waseem is a Computer Science graduate from Carleton University. Originally from Ottawa, he can't wait to see what the city of Toronto has to offer. Waseem is always eager to learn new things and loves technology. In his spare time he enjoys photography and video games.
Jingyi is a UX/UI designer who is passionate about solving problems and implementing social changes via design. With a background of graphic design, Jingyi is also interested in illustration, animation and technology. She came to Toronto to study Inclusive Design in OCAD University and decided to pursue a further career as a product designer after graduation. She is also a big fan of Japanese fandom culture and rock music.
Ashley grew up in Montreal and moved to Toronto to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Waterloo. Over her previous co-op terms, she took interest in learning programming and creating her own iOS apps. Ashley loves spending her free time at the dance studio learning from different choreographers and improving her technique.
Currently studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Navraj has a passion for problem solving and is always up for a challenge. Beyond the hectic and ever-changing world of tech, Navraj enjoys playing volleyball, reading, and would like to travel the world.
Devanshu is currently studying Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He loves playing chess, listening to all types of music as well as playing instruments. He has an artistic mind, thus can be spotted at any art gallery, theatre or music concert. In his spare time, he enjoys learning the skills to direct a movie with the hopes of making that a reality someday.
Keshav grew up in India and is currently studying mathematics and computer science at the University of Waterloo. He loves learning about the different applications of math within computer science. On his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and reading books.
James grew up in the city of Markham, Ontario. Eager to break into the tech scene, James is pursuing a Computer Engineering degree at the University of Waterloo. He is always up for a challenge and loves to problem solve. In his free time, he loves to explore what the culinary world has to offer, binge watch television shows and of course program some more.
Prad came to Toronto from India along with his family to secure a better life. With a lineage of programmers, he followed that path and became a QA Analyst. He loves to break products to find out what's going on behind the scenes and solve the problems. On his spare time, one can catch him producing music using Fruity Loops or performing the infamous Dream Shake on a basketball court.
