Norman is responsible for the legal and compliance functions of nanopay Corporation. He provides strategic and tactical legal advice about regulatory, commercial, intellectual property, and employment matters, as well as assisting in the areas of information security and privacy. He also leads the design and implementation of nanopay’s global compliance program.
With over 28 years as an attorney, Norman has worked for many notable institutions including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). During his eight years as a Managing Director of DTCC, Norman was the General Counsel at Omgeo LLC, a joint venture of DTCC and Thomson Reuters, which provides post-trade and pre-settlement services for up to 6500 global financial institutions. He was also General Counsel at Ripple, Inc. and successfully resolved a pre-existing investigation conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of California and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) into allegations that Ripple had violated the Anti-Money Regulations of the United States.
Norman received his bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in History from Ohio State University, as well as his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in law from Columbia University.
