The Position

As a member of the Legal and Compliance team, you will be responsible for implementing and sustaining the AML & ATF compliance program.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop with nanopay and to lead your own team as we grow. As a proactive member of the team, you’ll use your analytical, problem solving and detail-oriented skills to:

  • Manage Annual AML Risk Assessment process;

  • Lead the delivery on automation and ongoing enhancements to AML/KYC onboarding, screening and transaction monitoring programs; 

  • Manage and adjust transaction monitoring rules and alerts to meet nanopay’s risk appetite;

  • AML/Sanctions/Bribery Corruption Advisory support;

  • Manage AML/KYC Due Diligence Reviews (CDD and EDD) of customer and partners;

  • Perform suspicious transaction investigations and STR Filings;

  • Periodically review and execute AML Training;

  • Support  AML/KYC external reviews and regulatory audits;

  • Update and maintain AML/KYC Policy and Procedures; and

  • Proactively advise the business of new and changed AML regulatory and/or policy changes and articulate the impact to their processes and controls.

Who are you?

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience;

  • Expert understanding of AML and Sanctions regulations and respective controls within the Banking/Financial Services industry in both Canada and the US;

  • 3-5 years of previous AML/Sanctions Investigation experience (Name Screening, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Transaction Monitoring and Investigations, STR reporting);   

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and research skills;

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • Excel in a collaborative and fast-paced environment;

  • Domain expertise in banking, financial services or FinTech; and

  • CAMS certification considered an asset.
